Top Twitter Tools – Monday 20 April

Welcome to Monday – again. It’s crazy how quickly it comes around.

This week, each day will follow a theme. Today it’s all about tracking users, trends and topics. Not only is this really interesting, but you can also get in on the conversation and show up on the 100s of tracking/trending tools, i.e. you’ll get more followers just for talking about the hot topics of the day.

  • Monday – Twitter tracking tools and apps
  • Tuesday – How to supercharge your tweets
  • Wednesday – Great tools to get more followers
  • Thursday – Stat attack – the best ways to analyse your Twitter use/addiction
  • Friday – Friday fun, fun, fun – tools that will make your Friday go very fast.

Also, more news. I’m giving away an iPod Shuffle, Twitter Power (book) and Twitter Revolution (book). All you need to do is sign up to my blog and you’re in to win. I’ll tweet the winners on 2 May. Good luck.

Have a great Monday!

Twitoaster

Twitoaster is a twitter application client that threads your conversations like on a message board. To use it and get your tweets toasted, follow @twitoaster.

Twitterblogger rating: 8/10 (Love that they toast all my articles – a great tool for seeing what’s top of mind NOW!)

Hashtags

Hashtags are a community-driven convention for adding additional context and metadata to your tweets. You create a hashtag simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol: #hashtag. I really like this site. You can look at tags, people, trends – by newest, weekly or top. It’s a great little tool to see what people are talking about.

Twitterblogger rating: 9/10 (love the site, love the simplicity, love the possibilities)

Twitter Power Search

Watch incoming tweets from Facebook, Twitter, Twitpic, Digg & Google. Fascinating stuff. Quite voyeuristic though…

Twitterblogger rating: 9.5/10 (love watching all the random photos coming in from Twitpic)

Don’t forget to sign up to my blog to be in to win (and to get all the latest Twitter tools delivered straight to your inbox!)
