Today’s Top Twitter Tools – Thursday 9 April
Today I’ve got four great Twitter tools to share with you. How to play god with your followers (scary), how to get emailed a list of all your posts, how to check some great stats and how to self-promote the easy way…
Tweet Sum
Tweet Sum takes no prisoners. When you want to investigate the potential of every single connection, quickly and easily, visit TweetSum. It’s a great tool to help you work out who of your followers is worth following back, or not.
TweetSum gives you the tools you need to make this decision. Then it helps you quickly add or dismiss your new followers.
Anyone feel like they’re playing God with this tool?
Twitterblogger rating: 6/10 (not sure I like being so ruthless)
Loud Twitter
Wow, this tool shows just how addicted to Twitter you are. It emails you a list of your tweets from the previous day.
I use it to make sure that I’m actually adding value to other twitterers, not annoying them. And it’s also interesting to remember what you posted from the day before, when you posted and what you said.
For example, here are my tweets from yesterday:
- 07:07 You know you’re a twitterholic when… www.tinyurl.com/d37q6z
- 07:46 RT@joelcomm: Mars needs women. Twitter needs servers. I need sleep. All needs will be met in reverse order. Mars may have to wait a bit.
- 07:48 Mashable has just published 140 new Twitter tools. Thanks Mashable… www.tinyurl.com/6y6o8b
- 07:52 @chrisbrogan: thanks for following me. Thanks to everyone else as well. Got to go do some work. Oooh, but this is much more fun. #

- 15:41 RT @chrisbrogan: In a sky full of people, only some want to fly. Isn’t that crazy? #
- 15:42 RT @jimrowe – Has anyone experienced vanishing twitter updates? Everything of mine has vanished from yesterday back to 90 days ago. #

Hmm, quite a few. I think it’s worth keeping a log of your tweets, so in the future you can create an ebook, Twitter log, I don’t know. I’m sure the list will come in handy somehow. Any ideas?
Twitterblogger rating: 8/10 (it’s got potential, but how to maximise it?)
TwitThis
TwitThis is an easy way for people to send Twitter messages about your blog post or website. When visitors to your website and click on the TwitThis button or link, it takes the URL of the webpage and creates a shorter URL. Then visitors can send this URL and a description of your site to their friends on Twitter.
Twitterblogger rating: 9/10 (for self-promotion and this tool is king)
Tweetstats
Tweetstats analyzes your tweets. It tells you (using lovely graphs) what you’re tweeting about, who you are replying to, which client you use the most, etc. It’s an analysis of your habits. Once you’re done, you can tweet your stats to your friends.
Twitterblogger rating: 6/10 (it took about 15 minutes to load my stats).
The number of Twitter tools out there is growing at a rate of knots. There so many out there, and new ones pop up daily.
